FAMILY SUPPORT

Krabbe UK offers practical advice and support to affected families. 

We are mainly family members who have experience of caring for children with Krabbe disease.

We have  relationships with other charities and organisations who aim  to provide help such as equipment provision and respite care.

Diagnosis

Diagnosis can be difficult. Early onset symptoms can be mild and diagnosis can take time. Diagnosis is usually confirmed by an MRI scan of the brain, followed by blood tests.

Care

We aim to ensure families with loved ones diagnosed with Krabbe get the care they need, whether by giving practical advice and support or by putting them in touch with the right people. We offer to support families every step of the way.

Equipment

Equipment support can vary across the country. Through our partnerships, we aim to help families get the equipment they need at the right time.
